Overview

A Place for Mom is growing rapidly and looking to add a strong contributor to our Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Team. The SEM Specialist will perform campaign research, development, updates, and optimization for A Place for Mom’s paid search accounts with the goal of increasing relevant paid traffic and improving SEM and financial metrics. This position will also be involved at times in running reporting, analysis of campaigns and performance, and using the APFM content management system to set up sites, personalization rules, and conversion rate optimization testing.

Responsibilities

  • Create new campaigns, ad groups, ads, and keywords using SEM best practices and APFM project goals.
  • Periodically review search query reports to identify irrelevant searches and create and update negative keywords to prevent these queries from being targeted.
  • Review display ad placements for sites that are not relevant or perform poorly and update negative placements to prevent ads from showing on these sites or pages.
  • Perform ad copy optimization including analysis of ad performance, elimination of under-performing ads, and creation of new ads to improve consumer engagement and click-through rate.
  • Audit SEM campaigns for completeness, consistency, and performance. Document any gaps, develop plans to fix or enhance any gaps, and execute those plans to bring campaigns to higher standards.
  • Contribute to development, running and review of operational and one-time reports and analyses.
  • Contribute to setup and maintenance of SEM campaigns and their integration with the websites on which they are directed, maintaining needed data and rules for site personalization and conversion rate optimization testing. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Math, Business/Marketing/Advertising, Information Management, etc.) and a minimum of 5 years relevant combination of experience and education.
  • Demonstrable skill and experience in using Excel, using advanced formulas and methods for organizing data and analysis.
  • Ability to meet multiple concurrent priorities and commitments with extreme attention to detail.
  • Strong math aptitude and knowledge, including algebra and statistics.
  • Experience with data-related marketing is desirable with digital advertising experience preferred, such as Google and Bing search advertising or Facebook advertising.
  • Strong collaborator with ability to work with others on the team and beyond the team.  A strong communicator and team player.
  • Ability to work in high-energy, deadline-driven environment.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States to be eligible for consideration, visa sponsorship not available.
