Overview

The Senior SEO Program Manager will lead development and execution of SEO strategies with the goal of increasing traffic to A Place for Mom’s (APFM) family of web properties by increasing content quality and volume. The Sr. SEO Program Manager should be someone who can easily manage several time bound, concurrent processes ensuring marketing programs are executed in the most effective and efficient way possible. This position reports to the Marketing Director.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the SEO content strategy and an analytic framework to ensure measureable success.
  • Manage a team of freelance writers, photographers and other content creators.
  • Maintain a detailed content calendar with release schedules for planned travel and content collection/creation. 
  • Ensure content is accurately managed and published to various CMS websites, ensuring design and content are consistent and meet established standards. 
  • Identify and recruit vendors nationally to help achieve content goals locally. This could include but is not limited to production companies, content editors, videographers, photographers and designers etc.
  • Work with partners to create incremental value in APFM marketing efforts that increase traffic to the respective websites.
  • Scour the web for accurate and timely customer facing news and trends. Stay on the cutting edge of content marketing strategies, social media, SEO, as well as industry and competitor marketing trends.
  • Perform additional marketing tasks as assigned by manager.
  • Managing multiple content developers concurrently to task and deadline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. English, Communications, Information Management, Advertising, Marketing, etc.) and at least 8 years relevant combination of experience and education.
  • Previous people management experience required.
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in project management particularly in the social and digital space.
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience leading or participating in the development of a variety of content formats in addition to text, including but not limited to photography, video, infographics, audio, etc.
  • Fundamentally sound in search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and content that contributes to search engine relevance.
  • Exceptional copywriting skills and ability to lead strategic, creative brainstorming sessions that produce fresh ideas.
  • Ability to manage and meet multiple commitments with strict attention to detail.
  • Experience working with Web Content Management Systems such as WordPress and/or other web publication technologies.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and web accessibility standards; Google Analytics, BrightEdge, Webmaster Tools, and/or Moz tools.
  • Strong collaborator with ability to meet the needs of a diverse stakeholder group.
  • Naturally inquisitive, self-motivated and goal-oriented. A strong communicator and team player.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

The position is a salaried, exempt position.
