The New Hire Training Support Specialist is a member of the L&D Team who provides job specific guidance to support new Senior Living Advisors in achieving and exceeding their performance objectives within their first six months on the job.


  • Serve as an internal expert and first point of contact for new SLAs as they complete initial onboarding training. Provide expertise and insight including but not limited to:
    • Prioritizing tasks and follow-up
    • Accelerated Outreach
    • YGL Navigation
    • Five9
    • Proactively review Referral Alerts
    • Partner Communication
    • Initial Consultation best practices and objection handling
  • Establish and manage a formal line of communication, with consistent hours, in order to address advisor questions.
  • Coordinate efforts with the L&D and Sales Operations Team to ensure course materials are comprehensive in meeting the needs of new hires. This may include:
    • Providing consultation for selecting and designing the appropriate content and delivery methods.
    • Update/enhance onboarding materials to comply with current policies and protocols.
    • Organize/promote the training library that is housed in the LMS and on L&D Google Site.
    • Work with the L&D Team to ensure ease of access for advisors and managers.
  • Stay current with policies and procedures by attending RM/RD Calls, Monthly Advisor Calls, L&D Team Meetings, and reading assigned stakeholder communication.
  • Actively participate in the weekly department meetings, trainer meetings and material review sessions.
  • Identify new SLA skills gaps and create strategies to address through development opportunities.
  • Create and conduct surveys to assess needs, training effectiveness and goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Communicates effectively with clear and concise directions.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable in a virtual environment and using platforms such as JoinMe.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Google (Drive and Sites) product suites.
  • Ability to manage multiple demands.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and good follow through.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years as a Senior Living Advisor with A Place for Mom.
