  • Overview

    The Senior Operations Analyst is a key problem solver role at A Place for Mom. You will help drive insights to inform key business decisions. You will own analyses, data mining for business insights, problem solving to inform business decisions, and reporting. You will help understand the customer journey, operations through the APFM funnel and business impact through data. A deep understanding of our internal systems ensures accurate analysis and reporting. This position reports to VP, Sales Ops

    Responsibilities

    • Develop compelling, insightful recommendations based on quality data analysis with accuracy
    • Demonstrate problem solving curiosity to business impact, take initiative on analyses and make actionable recommendations
    • Retrieve and analyze data using SQL (SSRS), QlikView, and Excel
    • Source, work with, and combine disparate data sets to answer business questions
    • Work with product management and the technology team to identify and inform solutions to improve data integrity and technology solutions
    • Clarify and prioritize any ad-hoc analysis or data pull requests, and ensure the business analysts are clear on their priorities and are able to meet the timelines set for each analysis
    • Act as a subject matter expert for the operations team on the data available in our enterprise data warehouse
    • Support any initiatives or special projects that directly or indirectly impact core operations at APFM
    • Other tasks as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Strong technology skills preferred: Word, Excel, SQL, CRM or Salesforce.com, QlikView, and R experience
    • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
    • Self-motivation and driven to break down barriers to success
    • Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
    • Strong time management, organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
    • Strong quantitative skills including the ability to analyze and interpret data
    • Solid understanding of the concepts of relational databases
    • Ability to document and understand how data flows from users keystrokes to production systems through ETL processes to an enterprise data warehouse and into your analysis
    • Ability to quickly respond to requested changes and identify process improvements
    • Understanding of marginal analysis and the ability to calculate ROIs and break-even points
    • Understanding of statistical regression analysis and the ability to discern causation from correlation
    • Ability to manage ambiguity, work independently, and be able to chart direction of projects

     

     

    Education Requirements            

    BA/BS degree required

    2+ years of experience in data analytics and reporting
