    Reporting to the Senior National Account Manager, the National Accounts Manager position is directly responsible for A Place for Mom’s corporate account relationships with designated national and regional customers. The primary goal of the position is to drive significant revenue and move-in growth within our external customers (referred to as partners). This position is responsible for delivering the results through the sharing of performance data, frequent corporate- and regional-level contact, the creation and successful roll out of partner-facing programs, and ongoing partner education.  The position holds the keys to ensuring our partner relationships are excellent by promoting positive outcomes and monitoring programs that drive successful results to our customers. 


    The ability to sell and to motivate others to higher success is a necessary skill for the National Accounts Manager, and he/she must also be adept at measuring and reporting specific results to their partner accounts.  The ability to communicate and build relationships within the Senior Living industry is a key asset, given that a goal of this position is to be the primary contact for C-level executives within our partner companies nationwide. 


    The National Accounts Manager will also work closely with APFM’s Regional Managers (currently 22) who report to Regional Directors of Sales, as these managers are responsible for supportive and successful partner relationships in their regions at the local community level.  The National Accounts Manager also works with the Regional Manager to resolve any invoice-related issues that may be raised by a partner.  

    The position requires travel of approximately 8-9 overnights per month.  If the selected individual lives outside of the Puget Sound area, there will be additional travel on a regular basis to A Place for Mom’s corporate offices in Seattle. 


    Specific responsibilities include:

    • Develops creative campaigns, programs and monitoring tools to positively impact the move-in success of our national and regional partners.
    • Maintains relationships with C-level, Divisional, and Regional players at corporations to keep them informed and up-to-date on APFM activity, as well as to ensure that customer satisfaction and move-in goals are being met. Makes regular contact with all key customers, and both tracks and communicates the partners’ performance summary results. The use of YGL (APFM’s custom CRM) for all customer interactions is required to ensure success in the position.
    • Personally visits designated partner organizations to conduct regular Business Reviews (either quarterly, semiannually, or annually, based on partner category) and to promote new programs and ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Attends customer regional meetings as invited. Accompanies Regional Managers on their customer calls as needed and helps mentor them in the skills of building/maintaining effective and productive partnership relations. 
    • Assists with maintaining the database of all multi-property senior living companies and takes actions to ensure that their entire portfolio of communities is are on the A Place for Mom Referral service. Follows acquisitions within the industry and ensures that any “transition properties” remain customers of A Place for Mom.   
    • Works with the marketing department, including the Director of Public Relationships, on improving the effectiveness of written customer communication, including Monthly Partnership Reports. Creates new communication tools as needed in conjunction with the marketing department.
    • Assists with the organization and delivery of regular, partner-appropriate Orientation webinars, ensuring that these new partner communities understand APFM and how to effectively convert our leads.
    • Promotes the adoption and consistent use of Partner Central (a free, 24/7 online reporting and lead tracking service) and SeniorAdvisor.com (an online customer reviews and rating site) to our corporate and regional partners.
    • Attends tradeshows and utilizes this time to set appointments in advance to meet with partners and review their results with APFM referrals.   
    • Ensures no loss of current APFM customers.
    • Help to resolve invoice disputes in a fair and equitable manner, communicating those results to partners in a supportive and positive manner.
    • Keeps in excellent communication with Director of Partner Account Management, and prepares reports of weekly accomplishments and achievement of goals.


    • Minimum of Bachelor's degree
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the Senior Living/Care industry
    • Minimum of 3 years regional or divisional sales leadership and/or account management experience with C-level executives
    • Proven ability to develop relationships with C-level, Divisional and Regional executives
    • A personal sense of urgency and capacity to overcome obstacles
    • A high level of enthusiasm for building a business
    • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities/projects
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Excellent customer service skills

    • Highly organized
    • Comfortable with data tracking, analysis and CRM tools

    Travel:  8-9 days of overnight travel are expected per month.
