  • Overview

    The Senior Operations Analyst is a key problem solver role at A Place for Mom. You will help drive insights to inform key business decisions, both in the Call Center world as well as the Sales Operations world. You will own analyses, data mining for business insights, problem solving to inform business decisions, and reporting. You will help understand the customer journey, operations success, and business impact through data. A deep understanding of our internal systems ensures accurate analysis and reporting.


    • Act as a subject matter expert for the team on the data available in our enterprise data warehouse
    • Develop compelling, insightful recommendations based on quality data analysis with accuracy
    • Retrieve and analyze data using SQL (SSRS), QlikView, and Excel
    • Source, work with, and combine disparate data sets to answer business questions
    • Work with tech support and the technology team to identify and solve any technology issues occurring to individuals within the organization
    • Clarify and prioritize any ad-hoc analysis or data pull requests,
    • Able to prioritize and able to meet the timelines set for each analysis
    • Support any initiatives or special projects that directly or indirectly impact the department or broader organization
    • Build reports in SSRS, be it critical metric reporting, dashboards, or exception reporting
    • Other tasks as assigned
    • Able to work in SSRS on reports (creating or modifying) important to the sales field team


    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Strong technology skills preferred: Word, Excel, SQL, CRM or Salesforce.com, SSRS, QlikView, and R experience
    • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
    • Self-motivation and driven to break down barriers to success
    • Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
    • Strong time management and organizational skills
    • Strong quantitative skills including the ability to analyze and interpret data, with accuracy
    • Solid understanding of the concepts of relational databases
    • Ability to document and understand how data flows from users keystrokes to production systems through ETL processes to an enterprise data warehouse and into your analysis
    • Ability to quickly respond to requested changes and identify process improvements
    • Understanding of marginal analysis and the ability to calculate ROIs and break-even points
    • Understanding of statistical regression analysis and the ability to discern causation from correlation
    • Ability to manage ambiguity, work independently, and be able to chart direction of projects



    Education Requirements            


    • BA/BS degree required
    • 2+ years of experience in data analytics and reporting
