Responsibilities

THE POSITION

 

Successful candidates will work in our new Overland Park, KS office.

 

The Senior Living Digital Advisor is a new role at the cutting edge of our efforts to transform the way A Place for Mom serves families and individuals searching for senior living online. We believe that a digital journey can best fit the needs of certain families and want to provide them with the best experience to meet their needs. As the Senior Living Digital Advisor your primary focus will be advising families via email and text. Senior Living Advisors are responsible for educating families on senior care options and referring them to customer communities that match their needs, and follows up with the family throughout the search process. Senior Living Advisors are also responsible for coordinating with community customers to ensure timely follow-up to referred families. As a Senior Living Digital Advisor you will also provide test and learn support for additional company initiatives to support innovation and growth in how we serve families.

A Place for Mom (APFM) is paid by participating communities and providers, and our service is provided by the Senior Living Digital Advisor at no charge to families. The success of an SLDA is measured by referring families to senior living communities and converting leads into customer move-ins.  Success is also measured by adherence to and full adoption of APFM values in all areas of the job.

 

Who you are:

We are seeking a high performing Advisor who is customer obsessed, tech savvy, an excellent communicator, loves solving challenging issues, and a quick learner. You must also be a caring and compassionate person with a desire to help people through stressful times during their search for eldercare. Ideally you have prior sales support and customer service skills, and are very comfortable communicating with customers through email, text and phone. Qualifications

What you will do:

  • Incorporate APFM Values into each family, customer and co-worker interaction
  • Attentively, courteously and effectively handle a high volume of family interactions primarily through email, as well as calls and texts, based on the customer’s needs
  • Follow conversation “scripts” when handling different topics to deliver a high quality consistent experience to APFM families and customers
  • Identify family and customer needs, uncover pain points, research issues, provide solutions and refer families to community customers, through multiple communication channels, following the APFM sales process
  • Build relationships to help educate families about our referral process and ensure families understand the value of APFM throughout their senior living search.
  • Understand customer community offerings and how they serve resident requirements
  • Support testing of new communication channels and programs within the organization
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and use proper etiquette and language at all times
  • This is a full-time position, flexible availability may be required
  • Structured, pre-scheduled training attendance is mandatory

 

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Past history of senior care industry preferred, or you must be willing to learn about senior care
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must have moderate to advanced keyboarding skills and comfort operating between multiple computer interfaces
  • Comfortable using email and text as a form of communication
  • Ability to quickly learn new computer programs
  • Excellent customer service skills including verbal and written communication mastery
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills – ability to build trusting relationships with stakeholders to deliver outcomes
  • Entrepreneurial spirit – ability to self-start, multi-task, and work across teams in a fast-paced environment to support growth
  • Positive attitude – ability to work effectively across functions, geographies, and organization levels to develop solutions

Compensation:

 

The position is an hourly, non-exempt position. Working hours are scheduled at 40 hours per week that may include flexibility to work evenings/weekends; overtime is paid for time worked over 40 hours per week (or as applicable by state law), which should be approved in advance by the manager. You will work with your manager to establish a full-time, 40 hour work schedule.
